Borderlands 3 Inventory Slots. At the start of Borderlands 3, your Vault Hunter has 2 weapon slots, a shield slot, and a slot for a grenade mod. Throughout the tutorial, you will find gear to fill up those inventory slots and create a nice loadout. However, there are more slots that you can unlock throughout the game.
- Right-click the created item and then select 'Duplicate', to add a total of two SDUs (Storage Deck Upgrades; to unlock the remaining locked two weapon equip slots). Then, in the game, go to the Bank and retrieve the Weapon Equip Slot SDUs. Retrieving an SDU will unlock a weapon equip slot. The SDUs won't appear in your inventory.

The backpack upgrade is called a Backpack SDU, and it’s always in the right hand slot in the Black Market.
